Lovely Necklace. Materials Needed Nymo, needle Thread ( many colours available just ask)or silk Size 11 seed beads approx 30 gramor TOHO size 11's 8mm Glass pearls Approx 20 6mm Faceted Glass -Czech(more colours available just ask) /China Crystal approx 40Bone Rice Beads approx 21 beads ( one strand makes two necklaces) This necklace was made using 21 seed beaded beads and this necklace will fit over your head without clasp. You can make it longer, or shorter if you put a clasp in. How to... Firstly you have to string the seed beads around the rice beads. Using Nymo, thread a Rice Bone bead and tie a knot to secure thread through the bead. Then bring the thread back up through the centre of the bead so the thread exits the top and you have a thread tail at the bottom of the bead...just makes for easier "handling" when firming thread and holding work. Then it is just a matter of threading the size 11 seed beads and looping thread through and around the bead until it is all covered. This size bead 6x8mm takes about 10 rows of 6 to 7 size 11 beads to cover the bead. Once you have the bead covered simply tie off the thread and then start on the next bead. Repeat this process till you have the desired number of beads covered ( 21 ) and then use thread to string all the beads in the pattern pictured. I went around the necklace twice with the thread for some more strength. Then tie off...finished...Congratulations. Takes about 3 hours. |
